Even the best of us have moments where we aren’t motivated.
You know the days… when it hard to get out of bed or pick up the phone to make the next sales call.
Sometimes, you may know what’s going on to demotivate you and there are other times when you’re totally clueless.
Either way you know the downsides of staying in your pity party and probably want to get out of it as soon as you can.
Did you know that research shows rewards are responsible for three-quarters of why you do things?
Researchers find that perceived self-interest, the rewards one believes are at stake, is the most significant factor in predicting dedication and satisfaction toward work. It accounts for about 75 percent of personal motivation toward accomplishment. – Dickinson 1999
So here’s a tip, to get a little motivation jumpstart.
Give your friend, colleague or anyone you pick as your accountability coach $100.
State your goal and the deadline, make it a short one… 1 day, 3 days, possibly no more than 5 days.
If you meet your goal you get your $100 back! If you don’t, it’s theirs!
And if you aren’t willing to try that… here’s an 8 motivating minute video clip that may do the trick.
